Benoni gets fibre

Dark Fibre Africa is employing a fibre structure above R75-million in and round the Benoni urban area. DFA boasts that it's become the biggest open access fibre sub-structure supplier in Southern Africa with a spending plan north of R3.5-billion nationwide. The socio-economic advantages of fibre optic networks are massive, with DFA pronouncing that cost-effective broadband makes a contribution to increased business activity. DFA claimed that open access broadband also excites competition in the telecomms market, eventually reducing Net costs. Dark Fibre Africa Chief Executive Gustav Smit explained that they just supply the open fibre structure. "This enables approved operators like Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and Web service suppliers ( ISPs ) like Net Solutions and MWEB to give communities less complicated access to the network at much bigger speeds".
