ISPs to resell Telkom WiMax accounts

Telkom is getting ready to launch its commercial WiMax offerings, but unlike ADSL ISPs may only be able to resell usage on this service.

According to information received by MyADSL all ISPs will be allowed to resell WiMax usage, similar to the usage based model currently available from Telkom on their ADSL product.

ISPs will be able to use their existing ADSL realms to resell WiMax usage accounts to WiMax users, something that will most likely be welcomed by current ADSL resellers.

Unlike the current ADSL Wholesale offering, where ISP’s can resell the access portion of the ADSL service, WiMax will initially only be offered as a retail service.

Telkom said they could not currently comment on WiMax related matters.
