This is not the best FTP solution for security purposes. By allowing users to upload files without a username or password, you might generate a possible security hole for hackers. If you still wish to proceed, you may set up anonymous FTP access by doing the following:
We strongly recommend you create FTP accounts which require a username and password for a person to upload and download files on your website.
Anonymous FTP access allows anyone to access your public_ftp folder. The intention is to allow unidentified visitors to download (and possibly upload) files on your website.
There are two types of anonymous FTP to discuss.
The truly anonymous login requires user name 'anonymous' and any fake password (one or more characters). This gives access to your public_ftp folder.
Please note: This type of Anonymous FTP on a Business or reseller plan requires a dedicated IP and can only be used for viewing and downloading, not uploading. Dedicated and VPS accounts allow anonymous uploads.
The anonymous user names created by default are anonymous@domain.com and ftp@domain.com, and they accept any fake password (one or more characters).
This type of user is allowed anonymous access to the public_ftp folder, and can also upload to the public_ftp/incoming folder. This type does not require a dedicated IP.
